Türkiye’s auto parts manufacturing sector is growing rapidly thanks to increased demand from global automakers and a strong emphasis on innovation and technology. According to the Turkish Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers (TAYSAD), the country's auto parts sector has grown by an impressive 25% in the last five years, making it one of Türkiye’s fastest-growing industries.
As Türkiye is making significant advancements in the automotive industry, owing to a strong push toward a more self-sufficient economy. The country's first domestically produced electric vehicle, is a fully electric SUV with 300 horsepower and a range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge, making it competitive with other electric vehicles on the market. TOGG is the result of a collaboration between five Turkish companies: Anadolu Group, BMC, Kok Group, Turkcell, and Zorlu Holding, which have invested a total of $3.7 billion in the project.
TOGG has announced pricing for its first model, the T10X, when pre-orders began March 16th. The standard model will be priced between 953,000 and 1.05 million Turkish Liras, while the long-range model will be priced at 1.215 million Turkish Liras. The company intends to start shipping in late March.
TOGG intends to manufacture five different car models: SUV, sedan, C-hatchback, B-SUV, and B-MPV, with a goal of producing one million vehicles by the end of 2030. For these models, the company owns the intellectual and industrial property rights. Fast-charging stations can recharge the T10X's batteries from 20% to 80% in under 28 minutes, and customers can choose from six different color options for the electric vehicle.
Türkiye prioritizes the production of electric vehicles in order to reduce its reliance on imported fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions. The Turkish government has set an ambitious goal of becoming a major player in the global electric vehicle market, with TOGG being exported to countries all over the world. TOGG also represents Türkiye’s determination to become more self-sufficient and less dependent on foreign automotive imports.
